Hi. I’m Lauren.

Lauren Kung Jessen is the critically acclaimed author of Lunar Love, Red String Theory, Yin Yang Love Song, and the forthcoming The Fortune Flip (out on 3/17/26) and the writing workbook, How to Write a Romance (coming Summer 2027). Her rom-coms are filled with big feelings and lots of food.

Lauren’s books have been featured in Entertainment Weekly, People, NPR, The Seattle Times, Cosmopolitan, Forbes, and New York Post. Her debut novel, Lunar Love, was chosen as a Book of the Month main selection and was included in NPR’s 2023 Books We Love.

For years she ran A Dash of Cinema, where she made food inspired by movies and TV shows. She writes the Substack Important Nothings and lives in New York City.
